Scott Bird
Health, Performance & Transformation
A Life Built on Discipline, Movement & Real-World Results
Scott Bird has spent over three decades training, coaching, and living at the sharp end of physical and mental performance. His work sits at the intersection of strength, endurance, discipline, and long-term health — built through experience, not theory.
From beginning Shotokan Karate at age 10, to undertaking UK Special Forces (SAS) selection in 2002/03, to leading ultramarathons and Arctic cold-exposure camps, Scott’s life has been defined by pushing limits and refining what actually works under pressure.
He is the founder of Rising Dragon School (RDS) — the first foreign-owned residential martial arts school in China — and has since expanded his work across the Philippines, Sweden, the UK, and beyond. Over the past 20+ years, he has coached thousands of individuals through structured, immersive training environments focused on real change.
Coaching Built on Structure, Not Motivation
Scott has trained a wide spectrum of clients, including:
-
Individuals starting from zero and undergoing major weight-loss transformations
-
Professional athletes, actors, and performers
-
Special forces candidates preparing for selection
-
Retreat guests from over 30 countries seeking discipline, structure, and lasting change
His coaching is direct, demanding, and grounded in accountability. There is no hype, no shortcuts, and no reliance on motivation — only systems that produce results.
A Mind–Body Approach to Long-Term Health
While Scott’s roots are in martial arts and performance training, his personal practice has evolved into a lifestyle centered on longevity, self-discipline, and sustainableI clarity.
His ongoing practices include:
-
Monthly 72-hour fasts (since 2020)
-
Daily Sanskrit mantra chanting, Qigong, and pranayama
-
Continuous martial arts training, including:
-
Shotokan Karate
-
Traditional Boxing & Sanda
-
Internal arts such as Taiji, Xingyi & Bagua
-
Filipino Martial Arts (Eskrima)
-
In August 2025, while preparing the RDS Philippines facility, Scott spontaneously completed the Bohol International Marathon without specific marathon training — a reflection of how he lives: consistent movement, controlled stress, and functional resilience.
What to Expect When Training with Scott
Expect structure.
Expect challenge.
Expect honest coaching.
Scott takes results seriously and designs environments where effort is non-negotiable. If you show up and do the work, the system takes care of the rest.
His focus is simple: help people reclaim their health, rebuild discipline, and develop the physical and mental capacity to perform — for life.
